Suspension : The NBA has made the following bans for tonight's Pistons-Magic game

Joe Dumars, the Executive Vice President and Head of Basketball Operations for the Detroit Pistons, announced today that guard Killian Hayes will be suspended for three games without pay, center Moritz Wagner will be suspended for two games without pay, and guard Hamidou Diallo will be suspended for one game without pay for their involvement in an incident that occurred on the court.

In addition, eight more Magic players have been banned for one game without pay for leaving the bench area during an on-court altercation: guards Cole Anthony, R.J. Hampton, Gary Harris and Kevon Harris, forwards Admiral Schofield and Franz Wagner, and centers Mo Bamba and Wendell Carter, Jr.

An unsportsmanlike conduct was done when Wagner, who was called for a Flagrant Foul 2 and then removed, knocked Hayes into the Detroit bench as they chased for a loose ball. Diallo, who had already been expelled for a technical foul, escalated the situation by pushing Wagner from behind. The situation quickly escalated when Hayes hit Wagner in the back of the head. Hayes received a technical foul and was then dismissed.

The Pistons’ 121-101 victory against the Magic on December 28 at Little Caesars Arena was interrupted by the incident with 33.2 seconds left in the second quarter.

On Friday, the Pistons will travel to United Center to take on the Chicago Bulls as Hayes serves the first of a three-game ban and Diallo serves the first of a one-game suspension.

The first of Wagner’s two-game suspensions will begin this coming Friday, when the Magic visit the Washington Wizards at Amway Center.

To comply with league regulations, the eight Magic players who received one-game bans for leaving the bench area during an incident will have their penalties staggered so that they have eight healthy players eligible to play in each of their next two games. On Friday against the Wizards, Anthony, Bamba, Carter, Jr., Hampton, and Gary Harris will all be sitting out to serve their bans. Orlando’s next game is on January 4 at Oklahoma City at Paycom Center, and Kevon Harris, Schofield, and Franz Wagner will all be suspended for that contest.
